    New Brain, New World
How the Evolution of a New Human Brain Can Transform Consciousness and Create a New World

    by Erik Hoffmann PhD.

Over millions of years, the human brain has evolved in many significant ways from its once far more primitive form, giving it increased function.  So why would we assume that this process of evolution is not still ongoing? In his exciting and groundbreaking book, New Brain, New World, Erik Hoffmann uses cutting-edge brain research to show how the ongoing evolution of the human brain could bring about a shift in human consciousness, ultimately creating a better world. Hoffmann maintains that the human brain is still in a process of evolution, and that humans are developing a new brain which will eventually raise our consciousness to a much higher level, allowing us to experience greater levels of intuition, creativity, compassion, empathy, and joy. Using research results from scientific literature as well as the author’s own results from 40 years of consciousness research in areas such as meditation, feeling release therapy, the drinking of ayuahuasca and brain wave training (neurofeedback), this fascinating work links global consciousness transformation to brain evolution and changes in brain anatomy and physiology.

New Brain, New World maintains that the brain itself does not cause consciousness; it is only a vehicle for the experiencing consciousness, disregarding the common notion that consciousness emerges from physical matter during evolution as a result of sufficient brain mass and neuronal complexity. It suggests that an eternal, omnipresent, experiencing Consciousness (some call it God or Source) has always existed – it pre-exists everything else. It is also mandatory to distinguish Consciousness from the human mind. While the human mind is based on brain function and is undergoing an evolution, the experiencing Consciousness is independent of the brain, and it is eternal and unchangeable.
There is a global crisis facing us, and it is a crisis of consciousness. With its destructive feelings and insatiable greed, it is the human ego that stands in the way of a new and better world. But how can we raise our level of consciousness beyond the ego? A change of brain physiology is necessary. The good news is that we can participate in this change, with meditation, brain wave training, and other activities that encourage our brains to evolve. New Brain, New World predicts that a new level of brain organization will evolve on top of the old one, providing the necessary hardware for a higher consciousness. This new brain would include more energized and active frontal lobes together with an opening up of more neural connections between the left and the right cerebral hemisphere. When this happens, a new species of New Brain people will emerge. They will be a new race of humans who have the ability to create a new and better world.

When the new brain starts to function, an awakening to a higher level of consciousness will take place. It will be like waking up from a dream. There will be a heightened state of awareness, where the thinking mind becomes very quiet, perceptions get more vivid and real, and the main focus will be in the present moment. In addition, our behaviour will become much more spontaneous and intuitive, and there will be an increase in one’s love, compassion and concern for other people and their wellbeing – completely transforming our experience of life.
